A Brief Note On Mother's Day

As we celebrate Mother's day, I would want to talk about the ones who had abusive/ toxic mothers. To the ones whose mothers broke their backs even before they could stand. I see you. It was never your fault.

To the sons and daughters who raised themselves. Your story is valid.

To the children whose mothers gaslighted them. I hear you.

To the ones who are not in touch with their mothers. I know you are doing it for your mental health. And that's okay.

To the ones who wept a bucket infront of the therapist. I hug you.

I see you . Not everyone has strong, amazing mothers whom they want to be like. Some are raised by very abusive toxic mothers. Mothers like everything else comes in different packages.

It's okay never to want to be anything like your mother.

To the ones who still haven't healed the mothers wound. It's okay.

To each one who grew up feeling not good enough because of their parents. You are enough and a thousand times over.

Having a healthy set of parents is a great fortune. And not everyone has it. And that's okay. Don't go by labels. We are all humans. Some are raised by toxic, damaged people. And that's not your fault.

Also to the ones who has great mothers. May your bond thrive. This is the primary bond in life. And what a shade to rest. This is one of life's greatest privilege. I know it, as I have one.

And to the ones who don't. I see you. You are enough. And a thousand times over.

I love you.
